We always recommend that customers install the native graphics drivers on the machine that will be displaying Tecplot. This Mesa is different from Tecplot’s Mesa drivers and many customers have problems with them as they are very buggy. Default Linux drivers are backed by Mesa. Once the CoE license server receives the copy of the license, it will verify the validity of the license, and answer any questions the recipient has regarding the license.
The copy of the recipient's license you obtain from the CoE license server must be delivered to the student by the license server. Tecplot support will not need the host hostid to activate your license. The myhostids.txt file you mentioned in the docs is included as part of the tecplot install. Tecplot Support needs to have the full host computer information in order for the license to be activated.
